True you could use the the center of the glass on an Eotech when it's not on or you don't have time to turn it on. However it will not help you identify the target, which is way more important than having a red dot that may or may not be on. I stand by my first commentary, his money would be much better spent on a white light forend. Train like you fight, if it's gonna be pulling double duty as a fun gun and used for home defense it needs to be setup the same way for both. You will always default back to what you're used to and if somethings different you're going to be ass over tea kettle trying to use it under stress.
